CIVIL ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER
DJ&A, P.C., a consulting civil engineering, planning, and surveying firm, based in Missoula, Montana since 1973, is seeking a Project Manager with 10+ years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include managing civil engineering projects by creating scope documents and budgets; directing engineering design; serving as a key point of contact for clients; reviewing project design drawings and specifications; cost estimating; mentoring and supervising staff; and coordinating work with other staff. Projects may include but are not limited to transportation design, water/wastewater design, and site design. CIVIL DESIGNER
DJ&A, P.C., a consulting civil engineering, planning, and surveying firm based in Missoula, Montana since 1973, is seeking a Civil Designer with 0-4 years of relevant experience. Primary duties include performing detailed CAD design, analysis, engineering calculations, and developing construction documents for a variety of civil projects. This individual will assist in verifying code compliance, quality checks, meeting project schedules and budget as well as coordinating the civil engineering work with other disciplines and CAD designers. The candidate must have the training and experience to perform civil design for roads, highways, parking areas, site grading, water, sewer, and/or drainage. TRANSPORTATION PROJECT MANAGER

ENTRY LEVEL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Primary duties include performing detailed CAD design, analysis, engineering calculations, and developing construction documents for a variety of structural projects. SURVEY CREW CHIEF
DJ&A, P.C., a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm located in Missoula, Montana is seeking a survey crew chief.
Job Summary: Under surveyor direction, coordinates the activities of a field survey party; performs the most technically complex paraprofessional field surveying duties; and performs other duties as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the effective performance, training, and safety of all members of a field survey party;
Possess knowledge of land surveying principles and practices including boundary determination, legal descriptions, construction, topographic surveying, and GIS;
Knowledge of field surveying practices and techniques;
Use of the following survey instruments and software a plus: Leica & Trimble Total Stations, TDS or Spectra Precision Survey Pro Data Collectors, Trimble RTK and Static GPS, Trimble Access Data Collectors, Trimble Business Center, UAV operation with imagery or LiDAR, Leica High Definition Laser Scanners, Leica Cyclone software, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation and MicroSoft Office products;
Must have strong computer skills; Must be willing to travel.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education):
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience and AA in surveying or related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Minimum of 2-5 years working in the Public Land Survey System (PLSS).
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Work may be performed both outdoors and in an office environment. To perform the essential functions of the job, incumbents may be required to perform moderately strenuous tasks, such as lifting and carrying instruments weighing up to 75 pounds over rough terrain. Incumbents may also be required to clear vegetation, dig holes, and pound stakes with hand tools.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
DJ&A, P.C., a highly successful, multi-discipline consulting, Civil Engineering, Planning, and Land Surveying firm is seeking an Environmental Engineer for their Vancouver, Washington office. The applicant must have 7+ years of experience working on remediation and reclamation projects with experience in managing engineering design, construction and operation, and maintenance tasks. The candidate will be involved with a range of projects in the Pacific Northwest including CERCLA, MTCA, RCRA. Job duties will include a combination of office and field work with travel as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as key point of contact and provide excellent customer service for clients;
Scoping and managing projects;
Perform site investigation and characterizations, analysis and evaluation of cleanup alternatives;
Direct and perform remediation engineering design, including calculations, project specifications, cost estimates, and operation and maintenance manuals; and
Identify and pursue new clients and project opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education):
PE License with B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering;

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

The applicant must have 7+ years of experience working on environmental projects with experience in NEPA/SEPA related research to identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and documentation including but not limited to Categorical Exclusions (CATEX), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Biological Resources Report (BRR), Biological Assessments (BAs), and Finding of No Significance (FONSI). Job duties will include a combination of office and field work with travel as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a technical lead for all environmental projects;
Scoping and managing project tasks;
Research, analyze, and compile data for environmental documentation; and
Author all types of environmental documents.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education):
B.S. degree or higher in Biology or Environmental Science;
A thorough understanding of the NEPA / SEPA process;

PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR(PLS) VANCOUVER
DJ&A, P.C., a highly successful consulting, civil engineering, planning, and surveying firm, headquartered in Missoula, Montana since 1973, is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with 5+ years of relevant PLSS experience to take a leadership role in the surveying department at our Vancouver, WA office. Vancouver, located on the Columbia River, is a charming town with breathtaking views of Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood. It offers the best of a big city, while still maintaining a quiet and calm culture. DJ&A opened this office in 2016 and has multiple large and well-established federal clients. This position is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious surveyor with strong leadership qualities and will be well compensated.
We are looking for an energetic person with a strong work ethic, a high regard for the survey profession, and strong technical abilities who wants to be part of a growing company. The ideal candidate has the ability and interest to both deliver surveying projects and to help grow the surveying division in Vancouver. This person will be well supported by a surveying staff including an LSI Technician in Vancouver and 4 PLS’s in the Missoula Office. Additional support staff in the Vancouver office will grow according to need.
Job Requirements:
• Provide guidance, training and mentorship to survey crews and other survey staff members
• Provide Quality Control of work performed
• Be familiar with survey technology and skills, including PLSS, GPS principles, robotic total stations, etc.
• Ability to manage clients and network within the community
• Ability to manage projects, including budgets and schedules
• Physical ability to work in field and office setting
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
Additional Responsibilities:
• Strong working knowledge of the Pacific Northwest public and private sector markets.
• Ability to identify and pursue new clients and project opportunities.
• Construction staking, ALTA surveys, plats, deeds, legal descriptions, research, etc.
Expectations:
• Position is 40+ hours per week of combined office (70%) and field (30%) work.
• Field work will require the ability to walk on uneven terrain for up to 10 hours per day.
• Job location is based in Vancouver, Washington, with travel on an as needed basis.
